Answer by dark_scriptor
I saw this story earlier this week and found it interesting. On one hand, it may not be a terrible idea, if it deters the “wannabe’s” from further soiling an honoured profession. But I think the same could be accomplished with perhaps a set of guidelines and educational requirements, that all would have to be in possession of. Many institutions of learning now give credits for life experience…have a set examination that one could write and, if they passed, would be granted some type of qualification that would allow them to perform specific types of mediumship or psychic-related duties. If a person didn’t fare well on the exam, have a set amount of time before they could write it again. I mention this purely from a “product control” viewpoint, so there is some kind of standardized qualification. The aspect that disturbs me as well is how this new legislation will impact on how much power it gives a client. I’d be very curious what type of a waiver the government will require that each party sign, prior to a reading. We are unfortunate in that far too many fake psychics have been operating unchecked for a very long time, preying on people’s fears and insecurities. To classify all mediums as being phonies is like saying all French people are arrogant. It is not a fair or reasonable assessment but, like the Catholic church, there are a lot of skeletons lurking in the shadows. I think our protector guides will be working double duty to keep the negative entities and energies away from us.
Does a standardized test or qualification sound reasonable to you?

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Why do people not believe in psychic mediums?

but they believe in the prophets in the bible, jesus himself was a psycic, do you really think god gave only 1 man in all this time, direct link to him? as people change over the years, they are better equiped to learn the truth, we have psycic’s now which came from god, why wont anyone listen to them? they preach love and all tell of an all loving god. (im not talking about the 900 number pyscic’s, the real ones)
I’ve had a reading by sylvia browne, world renouned psycic, and she told me things I thought no one knew but me. she also described my grandparents to a T. how else would she know?

around 90% of so called psychics are charlatans,so most people only have dealt with the not real types.and in a lot of cases, the info a real psychic gets can be negative.if they were telling peple thet were going to win the lottery and going on free trips of course people wouldn’t have the negativ e thoughts they do about them, but it;s more likely they’ll see something bad than good, and that can be scary.there are truly gifted people out there who pick up on things that most people can’te

phychic=retard who claims to see stuff, but does not.

Do not speak about my God-Jesus Christ-in such derogatory manner. I know you mean well but you cannot make such comparison to God. There are lots of people in this world who have hidden agendas….some are dressed as angels of light. Do not be fooled into thinking that a true believer do not or cannot know the difference!

Just in the same way this psychic could tell you stuff that no one else can…in that same light demons can do the same. they are very much aware of every intimate detail of a persons life and can pretty much tell anyone to tell you these things. They are called familiar spirits and spirit of divination and the Bible is very clear about consulting such persons.

What you have done is to bring a curse to yourself of which you must repent and renounce before its too late.

Deuteronomy 18:10
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

Galatians 5:19-21 (King James Version)

19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
God bless You

Answer by Winter Child
There is a huge difference between being a prophet and being a psychic. A prophet is divinely inspired and is generally a teacher or leader. Prophecy is a gift listed in the Bible. A psychic medium, if I’m understanding who you’re talking about, claims some sort of sensitivity to a “spiritual world”. The Bible warns against this. That should be enough for you. If it isn’t then ask yourself this: Do you know if the means by which Ms. Browne gathered her information came from a good source or could it have come from an unholy source…..

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Psychic …?

Would you ever go or have you ever gone to see a psychic? Why or why not? Also, what did you or would you want to kow? How might the visit to a psychic affect you? It’d be great if you can explan in full detail. Me personally, I have never visited one but if I had a chance to, I would like to know more about my future. Where I would be living, what my job would be, and more. I’ll update later.

Answer by sweetmommymandi
Hey, just remember that, no one i mean no one, can tell you your future. They can tell you what they think may happen, or brainwash you into believing something will happen, but, as far as telling you what will happen is a load of poo. Good luck with your decision.

Answer by RayaHope
Although the use of psychics are generally not encouraged and are portrayed as phonies and deceiving, evil people, I along with millions of others see the use of clairvoyants as a refreshing and sincere source of comfort. The absence of tried and tested religious formula is generally the main factor in mainstream society rejecting psychics. I am also fortunate enough to have an open spiritual soul who views life as an oppurtunity for spiritual growth. I work as a clairvoyant and can count the number of readings I have had on one hand.I beleive that u should only have a reading when u can feel that invisible pull insisting u sit down and listen or when u feel a spiritual connection to the reader,(psychic). One of the first readings I received was like a scene out of a movie, dark windy night, a strange thought of,(I want a reading), overcame me, 4o seconds later I saw a woman sitting on the floor of the city. She had old sheets spread out underneath her and she was missing both her legs, I know it sounds crazy. As I walked past her she offered me a reading. She was spot on in accuracy as well as predicting a pregnancy I was yet to announce. She basically just confirmed alot of things for me as well as speak of events only I could know.I didnt find it as helpful in a practical sense as I did find it comforting and reassuring. It was like a reminder that there was a spiritual reasoning governing my lifes hills and valleys, it reminded me of Gods existence. When I give readings the emotional response is mostly the same, except that the whole experience is 10 times more powerful. I hear words and see images in my mind and then use my intuition to decipher them into messages for my clients.I have no concious memory of what I say during my readings, its as if I go into a trance, I prefer it this way. It enables me to move on and let go of any negative or draining emotions my client may have had. Hope u found this helpful, I’m not looking for converts, I expect to get alot of negative responses, I’m just voicing the opinions of a large percentage of todays big thinkers. Love and light…………………….

No. I believe some people can actually see into the future, but not on cue. I have had visions of what would happen a few months later a few times in my life, but they have been pretty rare and happened at random times. I think going to a psychic is a waste of money.

Answer by INFP_9_sag
I do, sometimes when I’m confused. Some psychics are very good and some are not (just a waste of time & money), a lot are scam artist so make sure he/she is a professional psychic (a real psychic). They use different mediums examples are tarot, astrology, face reading, crystal, palmistry, graphology, etc. Choose a reputable & professional psychic, make sure you’re not wasting your time & money so choose wisely & carefully.

Answer by centexdance
I have never actually gone to see a psychic, but, I have had online readings with a few.
I do believe that they have helped me personaly. I don’t know if they really see the future or what, but, I will tell you. They are some smart cookies, with the ability to, if not clarvoiently, at least creatively, look at your situation and go over with the things that can happen.

I currently only use one psychic (my choice, after working with a few different ones), because this one says, and this is a direct quote from a reading

“I believe that my abilities help people, and I don’t even know if the information I am getting is creative, intuitive or actually psychic 100 percent for certain, but I know that my advice has helped many people because they tell me so”.

I liked that he was honest enough to explore the possibility that his abilities could be imagined, but that he still had faith in his ability to help people.

I do believe there are some people who get into being “psychic” just to get money from you. I have had them try to sucker me into paying thousands of dollars for “spells”, which, I of course did not fall into, but, I know many who have.

This psychic actually told me one time that he didn’t feel like he would be able to help me with a particular issue, and I really value that honesty, at least I know that I’m only going to spend money when he feels like he is up to par.

Anyway, I’ll provide you his link in source, just in case you want to check him out, but, ultimately, it’s up to you. Wether you believe that they are actually psychic or perhaps just a third party who can step back and view your situation with the eyes of an unattached bystander.

Answer by Sweetie
Yes I’ve consulted with many psychics over the years but I don’t anymore. It got to be so bad an addiction that it seemed like I couldn’t make a move without second guessing myself and rushing to see a psychic for some sort of validation. It is addictive and I got sucked in and I lived for seeing the psychic just to hear what the future holds for me. The truth is way too many of those so called psychics are fakes, con artists, their answers are many times so vague and generic. When you do come across a real honest professional psychic, he/she will tell you that your future is not set in stone. To tell you the truth, none of the psychics who predicted the things that I wanted to hear came true, such as when will I get married, how many children will I have? Perhaps it was all my fault, sitting on my laurels and waiting for prince charming and fortune to fall in my lap because a psychic had told me that these things will come to pass in x months. You can create your own destiny. What’s your deepest desire? Where would you like to live? What do you really want to do for a living? You know what you want? Then go after it. Keep plugging away at it and one day it will be yours.

Please thumbs up and/or vote best answer; some ‘Mercy’ points please, pretty please with a cherry on top. 😉

Since the age of 9 years old I have had dreams, visions and heard voices. At that young age I became frightened and was not sure what to think of all this. Lucky for me my Grandmother and Mother were Psychic as well and helped me identify my abilities and truly hone in on what I was capable of doing. Once I was able to grasp everything that was coming towards me, I began helping people and I have not looked back since.
