Spiritual Medium

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Do you have any advice for a confused and spiritually inept teenager?

I am really confused and maybe depressed. My father died this summer and ever since then I am having a lot of trouble assessing morality. Lately, I feel like I have been focusing on cultural advancement instead of spiritual advancement, so now I know about books and films and even religion but I don’t truly understand spirituality or God. I can hardly bring this up to my friends or family because I don’t want to creep them out. I’ve been trying to be charismatic all the time and I am losing my mind.

Answer by Methane Mama
Religion is for those who would have others tell them how they should act, thiink, feel, and believe. That is counterfeit spirituality. True spirituality is figuring those things out for yourself.

And, “God” is merely a power play. It is an attempt to steal the authority of an all powerful being. It matters not whether that being actually exists. What matters is that people believe He exists and that certain people speak/spoke for Him. Don’t fall for it.

Answer by sly phy
“I don’t truly understand spirituality or God.” – it’s all lies. You need to be brainwashed into ‘understanding’ but this doesn’t bode well for you ever being able to think critically again.

My advice – leave it alone and go and discover what an amazing place the universe really is.

I’m sorry for your loss.
Pray to God and ask Him to show Himself to you. He loves you and understands what you’re going through. Don’t look to man, look to Christ. If you want someone to talk to about how you can have a relationship with God, just e-mail me I’d be happy to help.

Or, you can go to everystudent.com. It’s a great spiritual resource. I wish you the best, God bless.

Answer by James 3.10
The period of grief is more than one year. It is particularly intense now. You are not expected, nor should you expect yourself to have “come to terms” with things, “be strong” for the rest of your family, and “courageously” bear your sorrow without showing it to any one.

Quite the contrary. Recall all those people that in the past you were there for in times of trouble. Recall all the people you listened to and comforted in their sorrow. Now is the time for you to realize that you depend on others and reach out to them. Don’t worry that you are a burden or that you are wasting their time or that you appear foolish or unmanly. Reach out to them and say, “hey, can we talk,” or “hey, could you come over and hang out for a few hours.”

If they don’t have time, call the next friend. If they ask what’s going on say, “I don’t know. Come over and we’ll figure something out.”

Many of your friends are giving you your space to deal with things the way you want. Stop worrying about being creepy or being depressing to them. This is your time to take energy from them. Reach out and touch them.

be yourself, concentrate on what’s important and I’m sure you’ll be able to discriminate; strive for excellence in all you do and remember look at today is if it is the days of wine and roses, for who knows what tomorrow could bring, blessings.

Answer by Friar Timothy
First off just except the fact you do not know and be happy with that ! I too was confused till one day I just excepted that I do not know, will most likely never know and I’m happy with that !
Some people say they know but lets be real…..no one has died and came back with proof of a afterlife ! No one has died and come back to disprove a afterlife !

I do what is right because its the right thing to do, no book, preacher or fear of what happens after I die can change that !

Just be happy ! Do what is right ! And do not worry what others may think !

Your just perfect at being you….no one else can be you…..except it !

Answer by gmanon
Start by reading the gospels.

In case you do not know, the gospels are the first 4 books in the new testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. You can also read them on-line in Bible Gateway.

Pray. Pray is to talk to God honestly and sincerely. Then, not before, search for a church that matches the message of Jesus in the gospels.

May The Lord bless you.

Answer by Sol Invictus
JJ, don’t feel bad because you don’t understand spirituality… the matter of fact is that, it is not real. the people telling you that spirituality exists, are talking out of their… you know. one thing is knowing, another thing is believing that you know.

Answer by tree top
if you are depressed then you are thinking depressed thoughts that is how we are made by God, so take holt of your thinking and thing only on good things and your depression will go away, doctors do not want you to know this because they will lose money. God is who we need to Know through faith in Jesus, when we come to God through faith in Jesus we are made alive together with Christ alive spiritualy now you belonge to Jesus and he is always leading us into all truth as we read scripture in the new testament, Jesus died on a cross 2000 years ago to take away the sins of the whole world never to see them again. and is now offering life to anyone that come to him through faith, once we have been made alive spiritualy now you can understand what the bible is meaning because the spirit is always teaching us what we are reading in the scripture means, the bible is a spiritual book and when we have been made alive spiritualy we understand all things.

You are on the right track and you don’t even know it.

Answer by David
If you don’t understand God, then you haven’t been reading the Bible.

Probably, like most of us, you’ve been taught indirectly by mass media that the Bible is a bunch of myths and fables and legends. How can you have faith in a myth? How can that possibly apply to your life?

Everywhere you turn, you hear that the earth is millions and billions of years old. Churches have been clamoring to adopt billions of years, trying to make the Bible agree with science with Gap Theory. If that is true, then any half-smart person will naturally draw the conclusion that the Bible is clearly false.

This Old Earth Theory originated with the humanists and evolutionists. Evolution is a lie, with no evidence to support it whatsoever. It isn’t even based on a good premise.

There is however, plenty of evidence to support the Bible in genealogy, archeology, geology, chronology, the fossil record, and lots of others provide evidence that the Bible is indeed historical facts of truth, not myth. Evolution is the myth; totally unsupportable, and a joke, really.

Here are some famous Scientists that were Creationists

Sir Isaac Newton
“We account the Scriptures of God to be the most sublime philosophy.”
“I find more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible than in any profane history whatsoever.”

Translation: I find more accuracy in the Bible than I do in anything written by man.

Johannes Kepler
•Founder of Physical Astronomy
•Established discipline of Celestial Mechanics

He coined the phrase: “Thinking God’s thoughts after Him.”

He says, that’s the job of the scientist, to think like God so we can uncover what God has done.
He also says that we are priests of the highest God.

“Since we astronomers are priests of the highest God in regard to the book of nature, it befits us to be thoughtful, not of the glory of our minds, but rather, above all else, of the glory of God.”

Michael Faraday
“The Bible, and it alone, with nothing added to it nor taken away from it by man, is the sole and sufficient guide for each individual, at all times and in all circumstances . . .”

Henry Morris says he sounds like a Babtist preacher.

Mathew Maury – Oceanographer
“Pathfinder of the Seas”
•Founder of Hydrography & Oceanography.
•On tombstone at U.S. Naval Academy:
“Psalm 8:8 “. . . whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.”

He took God and His Word literally, and used this verse to uncover what today are all the modern shipping lanes.

We are warned in the Bible that in the last days, scoffers would come to deny the two most important concepts of the Bible in order to discredit it: Creation and Noah’s Flood. If these two events can be dismissed, then we must dismiss the entire Bible.

The Bible clearly states through chronological and genealogical records (verifiable records) that the earth was created about 6,000 years ago, not millions or billions of years.

The very existence of an extensive fossil record worldwide (rapid burial by a cataclysmic event) gives evidence of Noah’s Flood.

Ideas Have Consequences
•What you believe – affects how you think!
•What you think – controls how you act!
•What you do – shapes your conscience!

Your belief system controls your life.

The Battle Is For Your Mind!
“I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led away from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 11:3

When you exclude truth from your thinking, you’re going to live in error.

•Evolutionary cosmogony is believed.
•Biblical cosmogony is revealed.

Empirical science supports creation — Testable, reproducible, falsifiable facts.

Email me if I can help in any way. I have tons of evidence to support the Bible, and tons of evidence that prove the lies called Evolution and Old Earth Theory.

I can prove to you that the Bible is not only true, but the true Word of God.

Your mission is to find God’s purpose in your life.

Do not give your power over to this depression thing. It is something you must wake up fighting, and fight every day until it is gone.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Do you think the Bible teaches that being poor is spiritual?

Like many people, the media, perceive that as a Christian, one is to be poor to be spiritual…
But, i would have to disagree. It would seem that the Bible teaches otherwise.

But I want to know what you have learned on the subject of prosperity and poverty in the bible. Also if being poor is spiritual?

Answer by clusium1971
Yes.

Answer by Buddy R
No.

Being poor in spirit [humble] is spiritual. Being poor in finances is not spiritual or unspiritual.

Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Answer by Black Country Man
People that have a humble and lowly spirit are really considered christians, exacltly how Jesus lived. Wealth has nothing to do with spirituallity

Answer by Dustfinger .
If the Bible says things that sound like having less stuff is more spiritual (aka being poor) it’s just telling you that you shouldn’t love and get attached to material possessions.

Answer by rt66lt
Jesus himself teaches it. Maybe you need to go back and read your Bible. Remember, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Why? Because a camel has to empty itself of all its possessions in order to pass through it.

Answer by delilah
No, But i can tell you that when you have nohing its easyer to see God. I lost everything and thats when i could see God. You notice he provides for everything, Even when you have nothing.

Answer by Future Citizen of Forvik
I think that both the poor and the rich can be spiritual, it is just that the rich have a harder time doing it. Jesus was very poor and He is the supreme example, but there were others who weren’t poor who had a solid spiritual life such as Abraham and who can forget Job?

Answer by CassieD
I think the bible teachers that IF you are poor you can be spiritual

But people blessed with proseperity who have an open heart and share their “riches” with the poor are also spiritual.

I’ve learned God blesses those who are impoverished, but they need have faith.

God does not turn away against those who prosper, but expects more out of them because they have more to offer.

That is my interpretation and I hope I helped you.

Answer by sweetjane
A man asked Jesus, ” What can I do to enter heaven?” Jesus said, “Give up everything you own to the poor and follow me’.

You can pick an choose if you are well off….but of ALL the issues in the Bible, there is NO OTHER issue that is mentioned more often than poverty….not only in your own poverty, but also in how you treat others in poverty…..not by telling them about your religion, but by feeding and caring for them.

Answer by gertystorrud
It would depend on your situation and where God leads and calls you. (“Some” do it out of pity and recognition.)

Answer by MetalXcore
The Bible says that the poor will be blessed. it also says that “it is harder for a rich man to enter into heaven, than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle”. now obviously jesus was being funny here, but the point is that very few rich people are saved, because their love of money causes them to believe that they don’t need Jesus.

Answer by Linda J
What the bible says over and over is to be happy with the state you are in. It also promises that God will take care of all our needs, every single of of them.

To be poor doesn’t make one holy; to sit around all day wishing you were rich makes one very unhappy.

As is, being rich doesn’t make you happy, but spending all your time chasing after the stuff doesn’t make a person happy either.

Money is a tool; use it wisely and don’t let it use you.

Answer by Gypsy
Well, it has been a long time since I read the bible, but…
Being poor can be an excellent way to learn to appreciate the simple things in life.

Answer by wbusykat4
The Bible clearly teaches that the love of money is the root of evil. The Bible also teaches that the poor in spirit will be blessed. But I don’t remember any verses that specifically say a person has to be financially poor in order to be spiritually correct….Blessings!

Answer by Suzii
To me, the Bible is teaching, that spiritual richness is more important than being rich. I do not think that its telling people they have to be poor. Think about when the Bible was written, most of the population grew what they ate, made what they sold, and the Royals and their courts were basically the only real rich around, that didnt share or play well with others. Thier rich could be like owning 20 cows. Thier poor could be, they had no cows! It doesnt translate well into todays real world. I also believe it is teaching that if you are poor, not to desire what others have. Dont waste time on that, be satisfied with what you have.

Answer by piefkeholz
Prosperity has nothing to do with spirituality other than as the scriptures say” it is harder for a rich man to gain entry into heaven than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle”. Often riches can generate an independence thus removing the relying on the Lord.
Another passage comes to mind, ” what shall it profit a man if he were to gain the whole world but lose his soul”.

Answer by clark.robert57
Yes,almost all religions teach that excessive material possesions stand in the way of spirituality.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : How much faith does it take to believe in the quantum?

Comparable to the amount of faith needed to believe in the spiritual world? Quarks, leptons, nuons, etc. Are they scientific sprites and spirits?

Answer by Youmu Konpaku
I’ve heard of our father, our alien overlord, and the noodle, but what is this quantum?

Answer by WellTraveledProg
None.
Quantum physics is demonstrably correct, shown so by more than ample evidence. If it wasn’t, the computer you typed this question on wouldn’t work.
It’s almost certainly not a *complete* description of nature at the smallest scales — but what we know about it is correct, and works. No “faith” is required.

Peace.

Answer by jojojubi
Since most of us aren’t quantum physicists, we don’t do any research ourselves. We are relying on the testimony of those who witness these things first-hand, so the info is only as reliable as the witness. The writers of the Bible were willing to die for their testimony, physicists not so much.

Answer by Fitz
Let’s see … one can be demonstrated using evidencial experiments … and one can only be taken on faith.

I think you can figure this out.

Without an understanding of quantum physics you wouldn’t be able to post this question on the web using a computer.

Answer by run rabbit
I guess it takes a little faith, but thankfully I am not praying to the quantum to grant me a job or a place to live.

Answer by Caesar
None….

So you not believe the Large Hadron Collider is really making experiments… at least you got the internet invention for that joke in CERN… By 1989 CERN’s Internet facility was ready to become the medium within which Tim Berners-Lee would create the World Wide Web … no deity involved
