The medium also spoke alot about how we are energy and after life energy and what it is and I would like to learn more about this. Can anyone recommend any books?
Thanks for your input but I didn’t ask for it.

It is just as fake as religion is( it is entertainment that is all), they all have their little tricks to bring potential clients( money ) in! So beware!

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : What are your thoughts on charging for spiritual things?

I consider anyone that charges for these things to be a charlatan. I am talking about sweats, powwows, mediums, profits, and any other spiritual service. I AM NOT ASKING WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE REAL THAT IS NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION.
Nameless: Read the details before posting, you fail.

Religion is a corporation. Money rules society. I personally wish money didn’t exist. That way religion would automatically cease to exist.

Its sad to see some things in Buddhism being sold for money.. As it compelatly defeats the objective of buddhism. :/ I’ve seen silly wrist bans in Thailand claiming to be “blessed by a monk.” Anyone who charges you for religion is not here to help you, there here for you money. Remember that.

Define “spiritual thing”?!?

Answer by Jeff
I think it’s crooked as hell. If someone can legitamately offer a service like that, it should be a gift to society.

Answer by Minski
Those things MUST be charged for! Even if the recipient of the money doesn’t give a DAMN about money. Even if they’re already so wealthy that the physical act of TAKING the money costs them more in their time than the money is worth.

Because people do NOT VALUE what they do not pay for.

So the person charging for sweats, for powwow’s, whatever is making sure that whosoever partakes of it VALUES it.

There is a second, much more subtle THING happening here. Do YOU value it? More than money? If you are bỉtching about the money, then YOU are not ready. And even if you were ready, the powwow would not only NOT work for you, it may even be corrupted by your attitude towards the money. You would feel you were being CHEATED. If you are suspicious of your teacher, that person is of no value to you. Best if you leave now.

I’m serious. This is not any “oh yeah? I’ll show you!” You MUST leave. Because if you don’t, you are living a lie.

But ask yourself…WHERE ELSE are you going to get these things?

You get out of it what you put into it.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : How would I test my abilities if I thought I was a sensitive?

I sometimes hear voices. I usually know what people are gonna say before they say it. I am highly sensitive to other peoples energy. Am I clairvoyant or perhaps a medium or telepathic? I am so confused with all the new age mumbo jumbo that its hard to find some place to fit in. I don’t want to be someone that I am not. Is there anyone who has read this that has felt the same way but knows which direction to head towards?

Answer by Gary Y
Hearing voices can be attributed to auditory hallucinations – though this does not necessarilly indicate a mental illness or impairment.

The belief that you know what people are going to say before they say it could be confirmation bias (remembering the hits and forgetting the misses) or retrospective falsification.

You could easily test this – just get several people to say something and you write down what they are going to say before they say it. Keep the words to a minimum, say one or two words to avoid interpretaion issues, blind the test properly, use a third party and if you get results better than random chance, you may be onto something.

What am I thinking now?

Answer by Brandon M
I know how you feel in this area. I know what it feels like. Your wondering if your going nuts or are you really hearing what your hearing. There are ways to figure out if this is in your head or not. If you really are hearing other peoples thought don’t fret because more people are capable of this than you or even them think. Do you also get a slight headache when doing this whether intentionally or unintentionally? Also do you also hear your name being said although there’s no one around you and its usually in a voice that you know and its whispering? If you really are doing this you have some learning about this to accomplish and controlling of this ability. Because if you just let it go on its own it will get out of control and you really don’t want that. Not to mention the ethics that go along with this that is of coarse if you are capable of getting other info from a persons mind.

Answer by wushuboy001
This might come as a little bit of a shock to you, but psychic abilities have never been proven to actually exist. Most of what we see are urban legends, myths and folktales which are handed to us as truth. All professional psychics and mediums (that is anyone who makes a living doing it) are fake, 100%. There is no question about this fact. There are no exceptions.

You may very well be sensitive, empathic, clever, and intuitive but these are not psychic abilities. These are the brains abilities to reason.

Hi Mo,

You might want to try keeping a psychic journal, that way you can start to notice any patterns that might appear and better see your strong points.

You don’t have to ‘fit in’ the new age community. You are who you are. Your path is your own. Not everyone who is psychic is a ‘new ager’.

I have been spiritual since I was a kid and wasn’t raised with religion. Being spiritual and finding that I was psychic was a gradual thing. I believe what I believe in because of who I am.

What exactly do you find confusing about the new age ‘mumbo jumbo’?

A good rule of thumb when starting on your path is to only take in what makes sense to you and leave the rest behind. Everyone is their own unique self. People can only give you the advice that worked for them and it wont necessarily work for you. You have to find your own niche. Keep an open mind and seek your own personal truths.

Answer by Angel
Psychic energy is found in all of us.
Simple memory cards that you get for little kids can be a useful tool to test psychic ability. Place all the cards face down without looking at them and match them up, setting them to the side until you’ve picked up all the cards, then look at the pairs you’ve chosen and if over half of them are matches you may be on to something.
