Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : What’s the name of the Degrassi: The Boiling Point episode where Eli & Clare are doing a tarot card reading?

I thought I saw every episode this past season but I keep seeing things on Youtube and random fan sites with pictures and video clips of Clare & Eli in a tent doing a tarot reading. He’s wearing a black hat and she has some crystal thing goin on I believe… And she draws The Lovers and some other card. Which episode is that scene in?

Answer by Jess
its not in an episode its their part in the promo for the show before it started airing during the summer. it was like old fashion carnival themed and everyone in the cast had a part in it.

Answer by Midnight Snack
That wasn’t in any episode this season. It was actually in the promo leading up to this season which was surprisingly well done. Take a Gander! The scene you’re talking about starts around the 1:33 mark.

Answer by Zoey
Its not an episode. It was a promo music video of things that were going to happen during the boiling point. It was something that made people guess what they thought would happen.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : are violent video games and tarot cards a sin?

ok i have 2 questions 1 is are tarot cards a sin? ive heard they are and they arent the only reason why im worried is that my mom does them and i dont want her sinning like twice a day. and also are violent video games a sin. please give me a good and right anser.

Answer by Total War Gamer
No they aren’t.

(the only sins are clearly stated in the OT)

Answer by pmjenn85
Sins have to hurt people. If it isn’t hurting you or hurting someone else, it can’t be a sin. A really strict moralist might claim that tarot cards or video games or rock & roll or the waltz or comic books or WHATEVER is a sin because it damages your own faith and encourages others to do the same. But that’s for you to decide in your own heart: is what I’m doing hurting me or hurting my faith? Is it hurting someone else? If not, it’s just plain NOT A SIN.

edit: to believe that Tarot cards are a sin, you almost have to believe that they actually work. Haven’t we, as a people, moved beyond that kind of superstition?

No they are games and cards…who cares. I think you mom is old enough to decide what she wants to do, leave her alone.

Answer by lyperiorlovely@ymail.com
yes yes they are, but violent games arent really because they arent hurting or killing anyone in real life but as long as you ask god for forgiveness you would be alright as long as you dont do it on purpose.

Answer by blk01
there really isnt a right answer, it just depends on who you are… and who you ask, i guess.

ive heard that tarot cards are a sin because you are making a deal with the devil to get your visions. God never meant for people to have that kind of power, and you would have to get them from someone else, right?
as far as violent games, i mean, if youre going to get right winged about them, then yes, thats a sin too.

i really wouldnt worry too much about it, my dear.

OK. Let’s start with tarot cards – because they aren’t what you’ve been told by the occultists.

Tarot cards were created in mid 15th century Italy for the Milanese court. They consist of two parts, a standard pack of Latin suited playing cards and a fifth suit of picture cards. These extra cards took as their theme, not an occult philosophy or magical symbols, but a Christian triumph procession – hence their early name of trionfi, meaning triumphs, and from which we get our word trump. It was the invention of tarot that marked the invention of trumps in card games. And this is what they were invented for, a family of card games that continues to be played to this day.

Contrary to popular myth, the church never objected to them while they were only used for card play – and where they are still used for that, the continue not to object.

It was not until the end of the 18th century that a Parisian occultist, Antoine Court de Gebelin, picked up the cards and, ignorant of their true origin, published his how fairy-tale theory that they were from ancient Egypt and for use in divination. It was this use that the Church objected to. The cards themselves are just playing cards and cannot be called sinful. After all, people use tea leaves to ‘read the future’ but no one is going to tell you that you shouldn’t drink tea!

However, without an occult origin, fortune telling with tarot is no different in kind than fortune telling with tea leaves, dominoes, or knuckle bones – and just as hard to take seriously. The idea of knowing the future comes under attack from both science and philsosophy because it falls foul of the same logical problems and paradoxes that plague the idea of time travel. It truth, I don’t think that fortune telling works, so I don’t think that is a sin. However, it isn’t a useful thing to do or rely upon – so I would call it imprudent.

With regards to violent video games – they may not be pleasant but let’s face it, nobody is getting hurt in them, they are make-believe. If nobody is getting hurt, it isn’t going to be a bad thing – though there are better ways to spend your time.
